A historic visit
On 19 July 2024 the Centro Nossa Senhora Aparecida and the Franciscan Fraternity of Betania welcomed a particularly significant visit: that of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
The visit took place as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italian emigration to Brazil and was an important moment of encounter, recognition and support for the educational and social mission carried out every day in Salvador de Bahia.

Open on YouTubeDear friends, we are happy to share this experience with you: on Friday 19 July 2024 we had the pleasure of receiving a visit from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at our Mission in Brazil.
The Head of State was in the country for the 150th anniversary of Italian emigration, a journey dedicated to meeting the various Italian communities present in the country.
As the final stop of his visit, he chose to also visit our Fraternity and the Centro Nossa Senhora Aparecida, meeting children, educators, missionaries and staff.
It was a day full of emotion, gratitude and hope, which will remain in the memory of our community.
